Hands are an amazingly expressive feature in human communication. Holding hands, asking for someone’s ‘hand in marriage,’ making a pinky-promise, clasping hands in prayer, shaking hands have all been captured in this expressive motif in antique jewelry.
It’s no surprise, then, that jewelers and designers throughout history have used this most gestural body part in their jewelry as symbols of connectedness, sacredness, strength, loyalty, and romance.

- The pendant itself is made out of fine silver, which is 99.9% pure silver. In this form the metal is beautiful and does not tarnish.
- For the most part I recommend having breaks between wearing jewellery in general as anything will show signs of wear after prolonged use. Generally silver jewellery pieces are easy to clean and get back to their original state if signs of wear do occur.
